Adaptive Frontlight System (AFS) with LED daytime running lights
Adaptive Frontlight System (AFS) with LED daytime running lights

The Adaptive Frontlight System (AFS) gets automatically activated by light sensors, which switch on the headlights under low light conditions. The AFS headlight control system changes the geometry of the light beam, adapting the light pattern on the road to different driving conditions. It optimises illumination and enhances safety by enabling quicker response to obstacles. It gradually shifts the light pattern so that it does not disturb the driver. In rainy conditions, the frontlight pattern shortens and widens to avoid dazzling effects to occupants.

Electronic Stability Control (ESC)
Electronic Stability Control (ESC)

ESC is one of the most important safety features in the SKODA Octavia. It helps the driver maintain control over the car in critical situations. The ESC uses various other safety and assistance systems of the car to avoid slipping, under-steer and wheel lockup. The control unit of ESC compares data of driving behaviour with preset values and in case of discrepancies gives commands to stabilize the vehicle.

Multi-Collision Braking (MKB)
Multi-Collision Braking (MKB)

The Octavia comes equipped with an MKB system that reduces the risk of multiple collisions during an accident. If a collision is detected, the MKB system engages the vehicle into automatic braking mode, even if the driver has not stepped on the brake with sufficient force. The immediate speed reduction, along with further intervention by other safety and assistance systems (ESC, ABS, etc.), helps keep the vehicle stable and in its lane.

Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) with EBD and HBA
Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) with EBD and HBA

The SKODA Octavia comes equipped with ABS. The system activates in the event of sudden and heavy braking and prevents the wheels from 'locking', thereby preventing the car from skidding and ensuring that the driver can safely steer the car away from obstacles. Additionally, the Brake Assistant helps to maximise braking power and reduces braking distance.

Remote locking and unlocking of doors and boot lid
Remote locking and unlocking of doors and boot lid

The key of the SKODA Octavia comes with a built-in remote locking control with which all the doors along with the boot lid of the car can be locked and un-locked at the simple press of a button.

Corner function with front fog lights
Corner function with front fog lights

As the driver turns the car either left or right, cornering lights automatically light up the left or the right fog lamp to further illuminate the road in the direction in which the car is about to turn. This improves visibility for the driver by illuminating dark areas around the front corner of the car. Cornering lights also activate when the driver activates the turn indicator.

6 Airbags
6 Airbags

The SKODA Octavia comes with 6 airbags, which protect the occupants of the car in case of an accident. The front airbag in the steering wheel protects the driver, while a similar one in the dashboard protects the front passenger. The side airbags for the front seats protect passengers against side impact and the head airbags run from the A-pillar to the C-pillar protecting both front and rear seat passengers.

Anti-Slip Regulation (ASR)
Anti-Slip Regulation (ASR)

To prevent excessive wheel spin during acceleration, the SKODA Octavia comes equipped with ASR. The ASR system automatically modulates wheel spin during acceleration. This ensures that the driver has full control over the vehicle and provides efficient transfer of power to the road, thereby improving both handling and fuel economy.

Electronic Differential Lock (EDL)
Electronic Differential Lock (EDL)

The car's systems continually monitor the speed of each driven wheel. If they detect that a wheel is slipping, brake pressure is applied on that wheel to help it match the speed of the other wheel and more torque is transferred to the wheel with better traction using the EDL.? This is extremely useful on roads with different driving surfaces on each side, for example dry tarmac on one side and ice or snow on the other, and especially during acceleration or driving uphill.

Tyre Pressure Monitor (TPM)
Tyre Pressure Monitor (TPM)

The TPM system draws the driver's attention to loss in pressure in any of the tyres. This early warning can prevent mishaps related to punctures or under inflated tyres, which radically change the car's behavior and drivability. TPM is not only a safety feature but also improves longevity of tyres.

Parktronic - front and rear park distance control
Parktronic - front and rear park distance control

Parktronic sensors use radar-like functionality to probe the space around the front and rear of the car to determine the presence of obstacles and accordingly generate audio warning signals which help drivers in parking the car. The Parktronic display on the central infotainment system shows the distance and direction of the obstacle on a large colour screen.

Engine immobiliser with floating code system
Engine immobiliser with floating code system

Each time ignition is switched off, a newsecurity code is automatically stored in the Octavia's key. The next time the car is turned on, the engine's immobiliser system matches the code stored in the key with the new code that was saved. If the codes do not match, the engine will not start. This safety feature helps secure the SKODA Octavia even from electronically aided smart thefts.

Retractable Headlamp Washers
Retractable Headlamp Washers

Two headlamp washers are installed discreetly in the front bumper of the SKODA Octavia. When activated, they extend out of the bumper and spray each headlamp lens with water to remove dirt particles and improve illumination.

Automatically dimming internal and external rear view mirrors
Automatically dimming internal and external rear view mirrors

The SKODA Octavia comes equipped with automatically dimming internal and external rear view mirrors. When harsh light is detected from the rear, the mirrors automatically dim to help improve rear visibility for the driver and also reduce glare.
